Overview
You will experience traditional Hiki-Zome hand-brush dyeing at Tokyo’s only dyehouse in Takadanobaba, which has been operating for over 70 years. The same technique is used to create the silk kimono displayed in the studio. You will choose a design and apply dye to a tenugui (cotton towel), guided by a master craftsman. Your finished piece is dried and can be taken home the same day.
After the workshop, your Local Expert will take you to their favorite spot in Takadanobaba and share their local insights about the area.

Overview
Vous découvrirez la technique traditionnelle de teinture Hiki-Zome au pinceau dans le seul atelier de teinture de Tokyo, situé à Takadanobaba et en activité depuis plus de 70 ans. Cette même technique est utilisée pour la confection du kimono en soie exposé dans l'atelier. Vous choisirez un motif et appliquerez la teinture sur un tenugui (serviette en coton), guidé par un maître artisan. Votre pièce sera séchée et vous pourrez l'emporter chez vous le jour même.
Après l'atelier, votre expert local vous emmènera dans son endroit préféré à Takadanobaba et partagera avec vous ses connaissances sur le quartier.
