The custom tour was the one to go with for me. I haven't even been to Kyoto and honestly didn't know much about the area before I came. Leaving it in the tour operator's hands to decide where to go is the best way to get the best experience in my opinion. Highly recommend this tour with Jake Campbell if you are like me and want a beginner's friendly tour.
Not enought good things to say about Jake! He showed me around Kyoto in an unbelievable way. It will be a day to never forget that's for sure! Saw all the important and non-tourist areas of Kyoto that were spectacular! If you want the most unforgettable tour, forget your jacket in his backpack. Thanks Jake for a memory I'll carry until I'm 95 years old!
This was a custom tour after me and my tour guide Mariana had earlier been to the west side of Kyoto in the Arashiyama area. With this custom tour we had added some more time in the Monkey Forest area and then went to the Kyoto’s Northside to Kinkaku-ji. As before this was a very well organized tour.
This was a 100% custom tour after I finished another one the same day at Kyoto South. Specifically after a sake tasting as part of the previous tour we went to a nearby small city Uji and did some green tea tasting and visited a very beautiful temple (Byodo-in) near a pond and the attached museum.
