Day 1 - Tokyo: Arrival in Japan
Arrive at the airport and transfer to your hotel.
Check-in and enjoy the rest of the night in.
Day 2 - Tokyo: Jimbocho, Tokyo's Booktown
Begin your day in Jimbocho, Tokyo’s celebrated literary district, known for its rich history and vibrant book culture.
Start with a visit to a peaceful Shinto shrine that has stood for more than a thousand years. Then continue to the birthplace of “European style” curry rice, where you can enjoy a hearty meal while learning about the origins of this beloved Japanese dish.
Afterward, explore Jimbocho’s renowned second hand bookstores, where rare editions and contemporary titles sit side by side. Wander through independent shops specializing in art, architecture, and niche genres, gaining insight into the stories behind these literary gems.
Pause for a relaxing break at a hidden cafe, savoring traditional Japanese coffee or matcha paired with a sweet treat.
In the late afternoon, head to Meidai Street, known as Tokyo’s “instrument city,” and visit Ishibashi Music, a legendary shop that offers a fascinating look into Japan’s musical heritage.
Day 3 - Tokyo: Tsukiji Fish Market and Akihabara
Start your morning at Tsukiji Fish Market, immersing yourself in the lively atmosphere of one of Tokyo’s most iconic food hubs. Stroll through the bustling stalls at your own pace and take in the vibrant sights, sounds, and aromas that define this historic market.
Next, make your way to a nearby temple to observe an Esoteric Fire Ritual dedicated to the God of Justice. Feel the intensity of the chanting and drumming as the ceremony unfolds before open flame, which is a captivating window into Japan’s deep spiritual traditions.
Afterward, enjoy a local lunch before continuing to Akihabara Electric Town, Tokyo’s center for electronics, pop culture, and anime. Explore themed stores, retro gaming arcades, and an array of unique gadgets for a fun and immersive experience in the heart of the city.
Day 4 - Hakone: Owakudani and Lake Ash
Begin your journey by taking the Romancecar to Hakone Yumoto Station, enjoying scenic views of the countryside along the way.
From Hakone Yumoto, make your way directly to Hakone Shrine. Wander through its peaceful forested grounds, walk beneath towering cedar trees, and admire the iconic red torii gate sitting on the shores of Lake Ashi.
After visiting the shrine, head to the nearby pier and embark on a Lake Ashi cruise. Relax on the tranquil waters while taking in panoramic views of the mountains and, on clear days, Mt. Fuji rising in the distance.
Next, ride the Hakone Ropeway from Togendai Station up toward Owakudani Valley. Along the journey, enjoy sweeping views of Lake Ashi and the volcanic landscape.
Arrive at Owakudani, famous for its active sulfur vents, and explore the rugged terrain on foot. Be sure to try the legendary Kurotamago (black eggs), said to add seven years to your life.
Continue your adventure by transferring to the Hakone Cable Car and Hakone Tozan Railway, winding through lush mountain forests and picturesque valleys as you descend.
Conclude your day by checking into your ryokan or hotel, where you can unwind with a rejuvenating soak in the onsen, embracing the serene atmosphere of Hakone.
Day 5 - Hakone: Explore Hakone
Start the day with a visit to the Hakone Open-Air Museum, a stunning sculpture park set against the backdrop of Hakone’s mountains. Explore the museum’s diverse collection, including the Picasso Pavilion, which showcases paintings, ceramics, and sketches by the renowned artist. Take a moment to relax in the museum’s foot bath while enjoying the surrounding scenery.
Next, visit the Hakone Venetian Glass Museum, where you can admire exquisite Venetian glass artworks and stroll through the museum’s beautifully landscaped gardens. Pause for lunch at a local restaurant nearby.
In the afternoon, explore Hakone-Yumoto Shopping Street, browsing for traditional yosegi-zaiku (wooden marquetry) crafts, local sweets such as Yumochi, and other unique souvenirs.
Conclude the day by returning to Tokyo aboard the Romancecar from Hakone-Yumoto to Shinjuku Station, reflecting on a day filled with art, culture, and scenic beauty.
Day 6 - Hiroshima: Hiroshima Peace Memorial
Check out of your hotel and take the bullet train from Tokyo Station to Hiroshima.
Upon arrival, visit Hiroshima Peace Memorial Park, the heart of the city’s remembrance. Explore the A-Bomb Dome, an enduring symbol of resilience, and gain insight into Hiroshima’s history.
Enjoy lunch at a local restaurant, sampling Hiroshima-style okonomiyaki or other regional specialties.
After lunch, visit the Hiroshima Peace Memorial Museum to learn about the impact of the atomic bombing and the city’s journey toward peace.
Continue to the Hiroshima National Peace Memorial Hall for the Atomic Bomb Victims, then take a leisurely stroll through Shukkeien Garden, a serene traditional Japanese garden offering a peaceful contrast to the day’s sobering history.
Day 7 - Hiroshima: Miyajima Island (Selective)
Take a 30-minute ferry to Miyajima Island, renowned for its natural beauty and spiritual significance. Explore the world-famous Itsukushima Shrine and its iconic floating torii gate, which may appear either submerged or elevated depending on the tide.
Enjoy lunch at a local restaurant, sampling specialties from the local restaurants.
In the afternoon, ride the ropeway up Mount Misen for a relaxing journey to the summit, where you can take in breathtaking panoramic views of Hiroshima Bay, nearby islands, and the surrounding national park. Afterward, enjoy a leisurely walk through the Miyajima Forest, immersing yourself in the tranquil beauty of the island’s nature.
Day 8 - Kyoto: Golden Pavilion and Zen Garden
Check out of your hotel and take an express train to Tsuruga Station, then transfer to the Thunderbird train to Kyoto.
Begin your exploration with a visit to Kinkaku-ji (Golden Pavilion), one of Kyoto’s most iconic landmarks. Admire the stunning gold-leaf-covered temple reflected in its serene pond and learn about its rich history.
Next, visit Ryoan-ji Temple, famous for its minimalist Zen rock garden. Take a peaceful stroll through the temple grounds, enjoying the seasonal scenery and tranquil atmosphere.
Head to Nishiki Market, known as “Kyoto’s Kitchen,” for an authentic local lunch. Explore the bustling stalls and sample a variety of Kyoto specialties, from wagyu beef skewers and freshly grilled seafood to sweet matcha-flavored treats, immersing yourself in the flavors and energy of this iconic market.
Conclude the day at Kiyomizu-dera, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Admire the temple’s impressive wooden stage that juts out over the city, offering spectacular views of Kyoto and the surrounding cherry trees (season permitting).
Day 9 - Kyoto: Fushimi Inari Shrine and Sake
Start your morning early to visit the iconic Fushimi Inari Shrine before the crowds arrive.
Walk through the thousands of vivid red torii gates that climb the mountainside, and uncover the fascinating folklore tied to this sacred site. Learn about the rice related rituals performed here and Inari’s important role in agriculture and the local community.
Next, continue to Kyoto’s historic Fushimi Sake District, home to centuries old breweries. Enjoy sake tastings while discovering the region’s long standing brewing traditions and the cultural significance of sake in Kyoto.
Day 10 - Tour Ends: Departure from Japan
Check out of your hotel and take a taxi to Kyoto Station, then board the bullet train back to Tokyo Station.
From there, make your way to the airport for your departure flight as you conclude your journey through Japan.

Cancellation Policy
We understand plans can change. Our cancellation policy is as follows: 90+ days before departure: 80% refund, 20% deposit held as credit. 60-89 days before departure: 50% refund. 7-59 days before departure: 20% refund. Less than 7 days before departure: No refund. Once a tour is booked, no refund of deposit (20% of the total charge). Failure to make full payment within 30 days of your tour start date may result in cancellation without refund of the deposit. If your tour is canceled due to severe weather or unforeseen circumstances, we will refund all payments except the deposit. If inclement weather (e.g., a typhoon) disrupts your trip, we offer a ¥20,000 contribution to cover unexpected hotel or transport costs.
