Hi, I’m Kanae! I love meeting people from around the world and sharing the side of Japan that many visitors never get to experience. When I was younger, I was fascinated by cultures outside Japan and traveled through the United States, Europe, India, China, and many other countries. Those experiences inspired me to look at my own country with fresh eyes and ask, “What makes Japan truly special?” Since then, I’ve spent years learning about Japanese culture through tea ceremony, kimono, and everyday traditions. I believe Japan’s beauty isn’t found only in famous landmarks—it’s also in quiet neighborhoods, seasonal changes, local cafés, small shrines, and the stories that local people share. I’ve lived in Kyoto, rural Hyogo, and the Tokyo area, so I enjoy introducing guests to different sides of Japan. Whether you’d like to explore hidden streets, experience traditional culture, discover great local food, or simply enjoy a relaxed conversation while walking around the city, I’ll tailor the experience to your interests. I especially enjoy helping first-time visitors, solo travelers, couples, and families feel comfortable and confident while exploring Japan.
