An adventure around Ancient temple grounds and one of Tokyo’s most iconic landmarks.Key Facts
Overview
You walk past a beautiful gate that has been standing there since before Tokyo was even called Tokyo. The temple grounds are quiet and the park behind it is spacious, filled with beautiful trees and flowers. Much more than you would see at first glance.
Hovering above both of them is Tokyo Tower. This quiet special tour is led by a passionate Local Expert with unique insights and stories. By the time you reach the tower, you have already had an experience most visitors in this city never will.

The area is walkable, and you could do it alone. What the guide adds is the context that turns a walk into something you actually understand and remember. Without it, Zojoji is a temple, Shiba Park is a park, and Tokyo Tower is a tower. With it, each stop makes a bit more sense than it did before.
Going up the tower is one thing. Understanding what you are looking at from up there is another. This tour also covers the neighbourhood around it, which many visitors skip entirely,so even if you have already been to the tower, there is a good chance you have not seen this part of the area properly.
Comfortable shoes and appropriate clothing are recommended.
Tokyo Tower’s observation deck can be challenging for those who are afraid of heights, but it’s possible to enjoy its shops and cafes without actually going up.
