Konnichiwa! My name is Justin! I am originally from the US, but due to my dad being in the military, I grew up in Korea, The Philippines (my mother's home country!), and Guam. In the US, I have lived in California, Hawaii, Nevada, and Arizona. I have always had an interest in Japan starting with martial arts as a child. I started doing Tae Kwon Do in second grade (in which Inhave a third degree black belt), but moved on to Karate and kickboxing in my late teenage years, and have also practiced mixed martial arts. Around fifth grade, I got into anime and that further sparked my interests. My high school in AZ offered Japanese classes and without hesitation, I registered for them. I naturally gravitated towards that class and did well. For my senior year, I did a study abroad in Hiroshima, and it became the best experience in my life. When it was over, I didn't want to leave, so I studied more Japanese at Arizona State and came back to Japan after graduating. For two years, I worked as an English teacher in Ibaraki and went back home for more schooling. Upon finishing, I decided to come back and I have stayed since (been here for 20 of the last 25 years now). Within my time, I have lived in Hiroshima, Ibaraki, Kagawa, Ehime, Niigata, Saitama, Tochigi, and I now live in Yokohama with my wife and daughter. When it comes to Tokyo, I say Shinjuku, Asakusa, Shibuya, Akihabara, Ikebukuro, and Ueno are my streets. In addition, I am very familiar with Yokohama and Kamakura, and would also love to show you those places.
