Itinerary

Day 1 - Osaka: Arrival in Japan
  • Arrive at the airport and transfer to hotel via private car.

  • Check-in to your hotel and get some rest after the long journey.

  • Spend the evening in the Dotonbori District and explore its neon laneways filled with some of the city’s best street food. Sample local specialties such as Takoyaki, Kushikatsu, Okonomiyaki, and more!

  • Night in Osaka

Day 2 - Osaka: Explore Osaka City
  • Have a light breakfast before heading out with your guide to Kurimon Ichiba Market to eat your way through Osaka’s best fish market.

  • Hop on a train to Shitennoji Temple, one of Japan’s oldest temples with a beautiful pagoda, and step into its hidden Japanese garden, Gokuraku-jodo Garden. Find some peace away from the crowds in this tranquil garden.

  • For a vivid contrast, go to the vibrant Shinsekai Market, Osaka’s “New World” district lined with nostalgic eateries and colorful signs. Enjoy a late lunch at one of the restaurants before ascending Tsutenkaku Tower for a sunset view.

  • Night in Osaka

Day 3 - Okayama: Castles and Gardens
  • Take the bullet train and local train, starting from Shin-Osaka station and arriving at Okayama Station. It takes approximately 50 minutes.

  • Enjoy Okayama’s specialty of Chiya Beef for lunch at a local restaurant. Then head to Okayama Castle, known as the “crow castle” because of its black appearance. Head inside to learn about the castle’s history during the Warring States period.

  • Walk over the bridge towards Korakuen Gardens, one of Japan’s top 3 most beautiful gardens. Take a stroll around the gardens and take a look inside a feudal lord's house.

  • Night in Okayama

Day 4 - Okayama: Day trip to Kurashiki
  • Meet your guide and start a day-trip to Kurashiki (20 mins).

  • Visit Ohara Museum of Art, one of Japan's oldest Western art museums. Then stop by Kurashiki Museum of Folkcraft to experience traditional Japanese crafts and folk art.

  • Walk down and learn about the artistry of denim manufacturing in the area.

  • Head back to your hotel and enjoy a traditional dinner.

  • Night in Okayama

Day 5 - Naoshima: Explore Naoshima (Free Day)
  • Breakfast and check out your hotel. Take a local train (55 mins) to reach Ono Port and take a 15-min ferry to reach Naoshima Island, famous for its many art sites and breathtaking natural scenery.

  • Check-in to your accommodation and rest after your journey. Spend some time relaxing and get acquainted with the surrounding environment. There are many art points on site that will surely amaze you.

  • Night in Naoshima.

Day 6 - Naoshima: Art Highlights
  • Breakfast at accommodation. Rent a bike/Ride the bike offered by the hotel to see Kusama Yayoi’s internationally renowned Yellow Pumpkin and enjoy a view over the tranquil Seto Inland Sea.

  • Afterwards, continue onwards to see Red Pumpkin and stop by the intriguing ‘I Love Yu’, a contemporary art installation in a public bathhouse. Be delighted by the brightly colored murals and illustrations of Female Ama Divers who hunt for abalone.

  • Take a stroll over to the Hiroshi Sugimoto Art Gallery and learn about how his works represent a bridge between the East and the West.

  • Afterwards, take time to explore the Chichu Art Museum featuring works by Claude Monet, James Turrell, and Walter De Maria.

  • Night in Naoshima

Day 7 - Setoda: Explore Setoda
  • Check-out and transfer to Mihara. Take a ferry from Mihara Port to Ikuchi Island in Japan’s Seto Inland Sea, famous for its sun-kissed islands, lemons, and superb cycling route.

  • Arrive in Setoda Port and check-in to your hotel. Get acquainted with your surroundings as you take part in a Setoda Cultural Walking Tour with a local expert. Learn about the historical background of Japan’s Inland Sea, including its unique salt industry and maritime beginnings.

  • Enjoy a tranquil moment on the water during golden hour as you watch the sunset to the west.

  • Night in Setoda

Day 8 - Setoda: Zen Ritual and Local Charm
  • Breakfast at accommodation.

  • Experience a Zen buddhist meditation ritual at a nearby temple under the instruction of a chief priest. Learn about zen in Japan.

  • For a local experience, try out the one and only experience lemon by cycling.

  • Enjoy your free night.

  • Night in Setoda

Day 9 - Hiroshima: Explore Hiroshima City
  • Have breakfast at your accommodation.

  • Check out of your hotel and board the ferry at Setoda Port to Mihara Port (28 minutes) and walk over to Mihara station. Board the San-yo Shinkansen to Hiroshima station (1 hour).

  • Head out to explore Hiroshima. Visit the Peace Memorial Park, the A-Bomb Museum, and the A-Bomb Dome at your own pace.

  • For lunch, try Hiroshima's signature dish of Okonomiyaki, compare it to Osaka’s version of the dish, and decide your favorite. 

  • If there is time, walk over to the beautiful Shukkeien Japanese Garden or “shrunken garden” to see miniature valleys, mountains, and forests represented in the garden's landscapes.

  • Night in Hiroshima.

Day 10 - Hiroshima: Miyajima Island
  • Breakfast at accommodation.

  • Head to Hiroshima station and hop on the local train for 20 minutes to Miyajima-guchi station. Board the ferry and cross over to Miyajima Island (10 minutes).

  • Visit the Itsukushima Shrine and admire the world-famous ‘floating’ red Torii gate. Learn why Miyajima is known as ‘the island of the gods’.

  • Hike up to Mount Misen and take in panoramic views of the tranquil Inland Sea and its many islands.

  • Daisho-in Temple is at the top of this mountain. Walk back down and have time to browse some of Miyajima’s cute souvenir shops and sample local delicacies such as ‘Momiji Manju’, and Maple Leaf shaped cakes stuffed with sweet bean paste.

  • Transfer back to Hiroshima.

  • Night in Hiroshima.

Day 11 - Tokyo: Museums and Hidden Gems (Free Day)
  • Breakfast at accommodation. Check out of your hotel and board the bullet train (3h 57mins) to go back to Tokyo for the rest of your stay in Japan.

  • Visit some museums in Tokyo such as: Nezu Museum ,Tokyo National Museum and Mori Art Museum.

  • As an option, travel to Tokyo’s nostalgic neighborhood of Yanaka Ginza, famous for its heritage houses, culture, and local food scene. Visit the historic Nezu Shrine and learn about Shinto culture as you follow a winding path of vermillion red Torii gates.

  • Night in Tokyo

Day 12 - Tokyo: Tsukiji Fish Market and Hamarikyu Gardens
  • Have breakfast at your accommodation.

  • Start your morning with Tsukiji Fish Market to experience the hustle and bustle of Tokyo’s legendary Fish Market. Enjoy wandering around the fish market at your own pace.

  • If you are interested,  visit the most sacred temple in Tokyo with your guide and observe an Esoteric Fire Ritual dedicated to the God of Justice. The ceremony, involving powerful chanting and drumming in front of open flames, is fascinating. 

  • Visit the Hamarikyu Gardens, a metropolitan bayside garden, and feudal lords' old duck hunting grounds. Enjoy gorgeous views of the cherry blossoms and stop by the picturesque teahouse in the center of the pond for a cup of traditional Japanese Matcha Green Tea.

  • Night in Tokyo

Day 13 - Tour Ends: Departure from Japan

Check out of your hotel and take a private car to the airport. Finally, board your flight and depart Japan!

  • The first and last day of the tour are reserved for arrival and departure, with no scheduled activities.

  • Itinerary details, including activities, inclusions, and timings, may change based on weather conditions and availability.

  • Please inform us of any dietary restrictions, allergies, or any other medical conditions to be aware of prior to the tour departure.

Cancellation Policy

We understand plans can change. Our cancellation policy is as follows: ​ 90+ days before departure: 80% refund, 20% deposit held as credit. 60-89 days before departure: 50% refund. 7-59 days before departure: 20% refund. Less than 7 days before departure: No refund. ​ ​Once a tour is booked, no refund of deposit (20% of the total charge). ​ Failure to make full payment within 30 days of your tour start date may result in cancellation without refund of the deposit. ​ If your tour is canceled due to severe weather or unforeseen circumstances, we will refund all payments except the deposit. If inclement weather (e.g., a typhoon) disrupts your trip, we offer a ¥20,000 contribution to cover unexpected hotel or transport costs.
